SC-224, Airport Security Access Control Systems, established September 15, 2010 to update and continually revise DO-230, Integrated Security System Standard for Airport Access Control. The intent is to provide a basis for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and user community planning, investment analysis, and architectural decision making, and providing standardized systems and operational guidance needed for the effective deployment for security access control systems at airports and the related electronic security systems, and as the basis for meeting minimum requirements for Airport Improvement Program (AIP) funding.
