On Demand: 2024 Aviation Security Summit
EUROCAE and RTCA are pleased to announce their continued collaboration in hosting this year’s highly anticipated summit, dedicated to the critical and timely topic of aviation security. The Summit gathers top experts and key stakeholders from the aviation industry to explore and develop advanced strategies for strengthening aviation security. Panel discussions include:
Panel One: Tracking Cyber Threats and Risks in Aviation
Panel Two: Balancing Security and Safety in Aviation
Panel Three: Advanced Technologies Broaden Aviation Security Challenges
On Demand: AI/ML in Aviation – Building on Foundational Standards to Assure Safety
AI/ML in Aviation – Building on Foundational Standards to Assure Safety
FAA’s Dr. Trung T. Pham, Chief Scientist and Technical Advisor (CSTA) for Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Machine Learning, joins RTCA for an engaging discussion relative to AI and ML in aviation software. Dr. Pham will highlight the FAA’s focus on safety assurance and potential role of existing standards, such as DO-178C, to support AI/ML implementation in software for aviation systems. An author of more than 50 technical publications, Dr. Pham is preparing a new concept paper on AI/ML set for publication this Fall. Dr. Pham supports leadership in research and knowledge related to how AI & Machine Learning may be used in aviation systems, and how to evaluate integration of components based on AI & Machine Learning with aircraft software.
On Demand: RTCA's Standards Evolving with new Airspace Operations – DO-178(), DO-254(), DO-356()
RTCA kicked off our 2024 Events Series with a 3-part webinar series, aviation standards leaders share updates and application of RTCA software, hardware and security standards.
Part I. Hardware: DO-254 was published in 1999. Hardware development has evolved in the last 25 years and aviation is embracing the advancements to achieve new functionality when modernizing the cockpit. Listen to a conversation on how hardware technology advancements will benefit airline operations with a potential update to the long-standing DO-254 standard: Design Assurance Guidance for Airborne Electronic Hardware. Panelists include FAA, ALPA and others.
Part II. Software: RTCA’s Software Standards are the backbone of deterministic software operation in aviation. Panelists will discuss why maintaining an understanding of how software is developed and deployed is evolving with new supplement to DO-178C and DO-278A scheduled for publication in the next 12 months. Panelists include FAA, an AAM Operator and others.
Part III. Security: In aviation, as in other communication technologies, it is vital to be aware of the potential security threats the aviation industry faces. Panelists will discuss how RTCA’s security assurance standards protect aircraft operations and incorporate new technologies. Panelists include A4A, GAMA and Collins Aerospace.
