SC-240 works to write and maintain software standards for use in aviation applications. Currently, they are developing exploring and creating software supplements to address the use of Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software, Open Source software, and Service History in aviation software development. The group is also responsible for answering questions on the software process documents published by RTCA.
