Lorne Cass, Chair
Mr. Cass is the founder and serves as President of Aero NowGen Solutions, LLC. Aero NowGen Solutions collaborates with industry and academia in developing innovative approaches to create a more dynamic, flexible, and environmentally attentive National Airspace System, with ‘Safety First’ as the guiding principle. Prior to his retirement from American Airlines in 2020, he served as Vice President of the AA Integrated Operations Center (IOC) in Ft Worth, TX. This state-of-the-art facility serves as the nerve center providing operational control of the airline’s more than 1 million annual mainline flights.
Lorne’s industry leadership roles have included serving as Industry Co-chair, FAA/Industry Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) initiative, and as a member of the MITRE Aviation Advisory Committee. He was selected to serve on the FAA Advanced Aviation Advisory Committee (AAAC) in 2019. He is a licensed commercial/instrument pilot, aircraft dispatcher, and air traffic controller.
Mr. Cass joined the RTCA Board of Directors in 2019 and was elected Chair in 2021.
