Dr. Barbara E. Holder
Barbara Holder is a Technology Fellow at Honeywell Aerospace where she leads Honeywell’s crew interface technology strategy and chairs the crew interface technology council. Barbara conducts research on real-world cognition in flight operations to improve safety and system performance. She has developed improved flight deck procedures and checklists, new flight deck technologies, and advancements in flight crew training. Prior to joining Honeywell, Barbara led the Flight Deck Concept Center at Boeing Commercial Airplanes Group.
Barbara serves on several industry committees and is Chair of the Subcommittee on Human Factors for the FAA Research, Engineering, Development Advisory Committee. She also serves on the FAA Air Carrier Training Aviation Rulemaking Committee’s Flight Path Management Working Group, and on the ICAO Human Performance Task Force.
Barbara earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in Cognitive Science from the University of California, San Diego, and a B.A. in Social Ecology, from the University of California, Irvine.
