Apr 12-13 – SC-230, Airborne Weather Detection Systems, met virtually to complete Final Review and Comment resolution for DO-220B. They approved forwarding the document to the Program Management Committee June meeting for final approval and publication.
Apr 20 – SC-186, Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADS-B) (w/EUROCAE WG-51), met virtually to hear updates from SC-186 WG-4 about ADS-B In, from EUROCAE WG-51 SG-4 to receive the status on ED-129, and discussed the progress of a white paper detailing the ADSB-In activity. The committee also heard from SC-206/WG-76 about proposed changes on ADS-B Out. The next plenary is scheduled for September 18.
Apr 20 – SC-242, Spectrum Compatibility (w/EUROCAE WG-124), met in joint plenary hosted by Airbus in Toulouse. They continued to make progress on their first deliverable which will capture the current characteristics of radio frequency requirements in existing RTCA and EUROCAE standards. The group will next meet in person in July at RTCA and continues weekly working meetings.
Apr 21 – SC-216, Aeronautical Security Systems (w/EUROCAE WG-72), met in plenary at EASA, Cologne, Germany. They continued work on four new documents that are all expected to be published in 2024. They also had discussions with two other groups – SC-236/WG-96 on WAIC related security and WG-63/S-18 on interdependencies with security and safety.
Apr 21 – SC-228, Minimum Performance Standards for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, met in plenary at RTCA in Washington, DC, and received updates from the SC-228 working groups and EUROCAE WG-105. The committee also approved a document to be sent to the RTCA Program Management Committee for publication. SC-228 heard from different companies about V2V prototypes, industry progress on MOPS-compliant equipment, and received an update from the FAA on its V2V project. The next plenary is scheduled for July 21 at RTCA Headquarters.
