RTCA 2025 Award Winners
William E. Jackson Award
The William E. Jackson Award is presented to an outstanding graduate student in the field of aviation electronics and telecommunications. This award is a memorial to William E. Jackson, a pioneer in the development and implementation of the nation’s air traffic control system and an enthusiastic supporter of student engineers.
This year’s William E. Jackson Award has been presented to Jason Anderson for his dissertation entitled “Designing Cryptography Systems for GNSS Data and Ranging Authentication.”
Jason works at Xona as a Senior Security Engineer. He is a former Ph.D. student in the Stanford GPS Lab where his research pertained to constructing efficient cryptosystems for GNSS. Before Stanford, Jason received a Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering degree from UC Berkeley and has worked at SpaceX and General Atomics.

RTCA-National Aviation Hall of Fame Educator Scholarship
The National Aviation Hall of Fame (NAHF) and RTCA, Inc. have partnered to create a new Professional Development Scholarship Program to support Pre-K-6th-grade educators in sharing the concepts of aviation and aerospace with their students through the NAHF’s elementary classroom curriculum program Problem Solving with Wilbur and Orville.
