Dr. Christopher Hegarty
Dr. Christopher Hegarty is a Technical Fellow with The MITRE Corporation, where he has worked mainly on aviation communications, navigation, and surveillance (CNS) systems since 1992. He is the Chair of the RTCA Program Management Committee and co-chairs RTCA Special Committee 159 (GNSS). He served as president of the U.S. Institute of Navigation (ION) in 2008 and is a Fellow of both the ION and IEEE. He is co-author of the textbook Understanding GPS/GNSS: Principles and Applications, 3rd Ed., and contributed GPS chapters to CRC Press’ Digital Avionics Handbook, 3rd Ed., and Springer’s Handbook of Global Navigation Satellite Systems.
