This document contains the Minimum Operational Performance
Standards (MOPS) for airborne equipment for Automatic 
Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) utilizing 1090MHz 
Mode-S extended squitter.  ADS-B is a system for aircraft or 
surface vehicles, operating within the airport surface 
movement area, that periodically transmits its state vector
(horizontal and vertical position, horizontal and vertical 
velocity) and other information.
 
This MOPS describes typical equipment applications and
operational goals and along with DO-242, Minimum Aviation
System Performance Standards for ADS-B, forms the basis for 
the recommended performance standards and test procedures.
