SC-159
Global Positioning System
SC-159 develops minimum standards that form the basis for FAA approval of equipment using GPS as a primary means of civil aircraft navigation. The committee's most recent publications are DO-301, Minimum Operational Performance Standards for Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Airborne Active Antenna Equipment for the L1 Frequency Band, and DO-229D - Minimum Operational Performance Standards for Global Positioning System/Wide Area Augmentation System Airborne Equipment, issued 13 December 2006.
