NextGen Task Force Interim Report Submitted to FAA
The NextGen Task Force Interim Report was submitted to the FAA on June 30, 2009. You may download a copy here.
As you will read, the task force is widely supported by the aviation community and is making tremendous progress. The Task Force is on track to deliver its final recommendations to the FAA by August 31, 2009.
None of this would be possible without the outstanding support of the nearly 200 active Task Force volunteers. We thank them for their commitment to aviation and to the task force objective of submitting recommendations addressing the delivery of NextGen operational capabilities in the near-to-mid term.
If you have any comments on the Interim Report, please feel free to forward them to rglennon@rtca.org
Lorne Cass and Bob Lamond Receive 2009 RTCA Achievement Award
The RTCA Achievement Award is given annually to recognize the person or persons who have made the most significant contribution to the successful accomplishment of the RTCA mission and support of aviation community over the past year. The RTCA Policy Board selects the recipient for the RTCA Achievement Award.
The 2009 Achievement Award recipients, Lorne Cass, Delta Air Lines, and Bob Lamond, National Business Aviation Association, currently serve as the co-chairs of the Air Traffic Management Advisory Committee (ATMAC) Requirements & Planning Work Group (R&P WG). Under their leadership, the R&P WG is instrumental in helping to form aviation community consensus leading to the implementation of operational capabilities in the near-to-mid-term.
Lorne and Bob were recognized at the recent RTCA 2009 Symposium. In presenting the award, RTCA President Margaret Jenny noted, "Our award this year underscores the principle of government / industry collaboration, the very foundation of RTCA's service to the aviation community."
Congratulations to Lorne Cass and Bob Lamond.
Check back soon for more results from the RTCA 2009 Symposium.
